I have an MD and a PhD in Cognitive Science from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). My research involves empirical studies in neuroimaging, as well as theoretical issues in cognitive neuroscience.

Currently, I am Research Professor at the Department of Psychiatry and Legal Medicine of the UAB, and director of the research group “Unitat de Recerca en Neurociència Cognitiva” (URNC), at the UAB, also affiliated at the Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute (lMIM), Barcelona, Spain, as “Neuroimaging of Mental Disorders” group (GREEN).

At the URNC/GREEN’s we are applying neuroimaging techniques to study mental disorders, but also to assess how the brain adapts to life challenges as diverse as motherhood or ideological radicalization. You can read about about our research in the Research and the Journal Articles sections.

I have also published about our research in the books Somos lo que nos contamos (Ariel, 2019), Paraula de Robot (Bromera, 2003), or The dissolution of mind (Rodopi, 2002). In addition, throughout my career I have tried to develop links between the neurosciences and the humanities, which have resulted in fiction works (De botxins i gots d’aigua, Denes 2003), novel Joc net, Pagès Editors 2004). In recent years, I have also collaborated in different performance arts’ productions (Orion, Teatre Lliure, Barcelona, 2007; Casparo. Palau de la Música, Barcelona, 2011; Fausto, La Monnaie, Brussels 2018), as well as in a teaching and research project at the Eolia Conservatory of Dramatic Arts.
